In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap... until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal.
This show was very interesting to light, the whole plot of Chicago is to be a show within a show, and that show is very old-fashioned. I did not use many gels to help achieve this so it gets that classic stage lighting look. Of course, some moments broke out of this, such as Razzle Dazzle to make it more fun and match the scene better. LED Movers also helped achieve this show's theme of razzle-dazzle, it added more elements and helped give highlight. Practical lighting was very important to this, I used it to add more highlights, such as cell lighting while giving things more realistic looks. Overall, I used a combination of halogen and LED spot movers to give it that show-within-a-show look.
